What are Customized Machinery Trailer?

Speaking in engineering terms, machine customization defines the purpose of a machine or extends that purpose. In the case of machinery trailers, that customization process accounts for the dimensions of heavy machinery, the loads that are expected to be transported, and the terrain the trailer will be crossing.

In order to accommodate these design factors, the platform of the trailer has to be fabricated to match customer specifications. Heavy machinery will require high-tensile steel sheets and spring-assisted ramps to shift a load that has to overcome its own inertia. Custom manufactured support struts and cross-beams accompany the steel, augmenting the structure at key stress points. Axles and wheels match this design outline, providing base transport worthiness during the transport of machinery. Consequently, braking requirements must incorporate a design that can stop the trailer safely and in a timely fashion. Air brakes and double electric brakes fulfill this requirement, balancing the momentum of an accelerating payload with reliable stopping power.

The dual obstacle of consignment weight and terrain coverage is handled with the aforementioned axle design and the width or type of wheels fitted to the trailer, but the true cushioning comes from a robust suspension mechanism. Mechanical suspension is standard on machinery trailers carrying smaller cargo, but longer variants turn to pneumatic suspension, opting for air cushioning that can prevent build-ups of vibration on heavy loads. These vibrations and a possible shift of the large mass during a wide turn will affect steering, a more than reasonable rationale for opting to customize the trailer with a superior suspension mechanism. Returning to more compact trailers, the workhorses that relay machinery from work site to work depot, such trailers transport machinery every day, and they will succumb to wear and tear unless they’re fabricated from durable metals. Start with a rugged base, a graded steel that is resistant to corrosion and the stress of heavy loads. Add a polyurethane coating to further dismiss the effects of the weather and cancel out abrasive scratching.

A customized machinery trailer solution delivers the best in equipment moving and heavyweight vehicle transportation, but this work ethic is nothing without the input of the customer. Specify the purpose of the trailer, the size and weight of a typical consignment. Add other factors, the terrain the towing vehicle is navigating, the mileage being covered each day, and receive a trailer with optimal support characteristics and the perfect suspension configuration.

How to Properly Secure Motor Vehicles in Trailers

Transporting your motorbikes or motor vehicles with a trailer is hard and sometimes if not loaded properly, accidents can happen. In order to take proper care of your vehicle while in transporting them inside your trailers, here are some basic guidelines to follow to make sure they are secure and safe.
·         Before towing, you need to check that you trailer is in good shape mechanically. This means that you have to make sure they work during turn signals, it has enough tail lights, it is well-lubricated in the wheel bearings, tyres are inflated enough and in good condition.
·         Make sure that you have enough insurance coverage in the event of an accident or theft.
·         When loading and unloading, try getting people to help you to make things safer and easier.
·         Make sure you use a long ramp that is about 7 ft long to avoid any damages to your oil filter and other components especially with motorbikes as you bring them inside the trailer.  This is important for those trailers with no beavertail or a sloping back end.
·         When loading, position them a bit forward of the center to make sure you keep most of the weight on the hitch. Do not load anything heavy in the rear as it can cause things to sway when transporting.
·         Make sure the motorbike’s front wheel is secured so it cannot make any turns during transporting.
·         Attach soft straps to the motorbike’s sturdy section of the frame and make sure the anchor points of these straps are at a 45 degree angle. These soft straps help in protecting the bike from being scratched during the move.
·         It is recommended to use ratchet-type tie-downs to increase the tension in the motorbike suspension and keep them upright and stable as these suspensions absorb the shock.
·         Tie the rear of the motorbike by attaching the straps to the frame, passenger hand grips and/or the passenger foot pegs.
·         If stopping by for the night, secure your trailer from any theft using fork locks, brake locks as well as locks on the rear door of your box trailer.

Following these tips will surely help you with in loading your box trailer. Are you still not contented with your trailer’s capabilities? We at Titan Engineering will help you customise and build your trailer the way you want. Visit or contact us today!

Why are Custom Trailers Better?

Customization of items according to your preferences is better. Having your trailer customised is no different and would be a great investment on your part especially if you want your trailer to be designed is a specific way.

When you have a trailer designed to fit your specific needs it’s going to last longer, because it’s built for the wear and tear from the things that you intend to use it for. Whether you need an enclosed car trailer, a custom car hauler, a race-car trailer, a stock trailer or a trailer customized to fit another need having a custom-made means a longer lifespan of the merchandise. It is an investment that just makes sense.

There is no reason to settle for less than you deserve or need. While it may be a little more initially, it saves you more in the long run. Plus, if you’re hauling heavy or large loads having a trailer customized for this is the safer option. Now that is priceless. Whatever your needs are having a trailer custom-made is really the option that always comes out better in the end.

When you have a trailer fully customized it is individually built to meet your exact specifications. This is a trailer that is built tough, and it’s going to meet your demand. You make the call, you can choose the design and materials for durability. You’re the one in charge of this project, so it fits your needs exactly.

The entire process is more affordable than you think. I’d rather pick a pricey custom built trailer over a factory built trailer that has lower cost. Why? Because you don’t have to change anything from a custom built trailer. All the things that you need are present inside that trailer and will meet all your demands when it comes to hauling.

Having a trailer custom-made for you is just as easy as a few clicks of the mouse or a phone call. You can easily have a team working on your own trailer in no time, and again, it’s far more affordable than you may think. When we say customized, we mean full customization right down to the lighting and cabinetry. So, what are you waiting for? Get your trailer customize today at Titan Engineering!

Qualities of a Good Custom Trailer

Hauling objects from one place to another can be a lot easier using a trailer and if you’re planning to get one, you need to learn the qualities of a good custom trailer. Today, we’ll give you some pointers on what to look for.
1.       Trailer Strength
It is important to consider this when buying a custom trailer. You want to ensure that the trailer you are buying is designed to carry not just the weight of your heaviest load, but physical characteristics of the load, each type of load you need to move and the weight distribution of the load.

2.       Stability
Why do you see some trailer wobble? This is mainly due to instability issues. An unstable trailer increases the risk of injuries and accidents as well as damage to the load itself. When it comes to custom trailer stability, different factors are needed to be considered like load distribution, brakes and COG or center of gravity. Consider going to an experienced custom trailer manufacturer who knows these kinds of factors.

3.       Versatility
If you are hauling different kinds of products, you need your trailer to be versatile as possible. Let your manufacturer know what kinds of products you are hauling. Identifying these would maximise flexibility. Knowing this would help your manufacturer on what additional features to add inside and outside your trailer.

4.       Quality
There’s no point in going to all the effort of considering all your uses and designing the most useful trailer for your needs if the quality of materials and workmanship won’t last. Make sure that your manufacturer are not using cheap materials or doing unprofessional workmanship. You want your trailer to be able to withstand all the load stress and the distance it will travel without breaking down.
